The Peacoat

These days São Paulo has been facing a great climate change. It's hard to believe that just a week ago it used to be hot. So as the weather gets colder indicating the start of winter, I say goodbye the days of tailored shorts and flip flops and give a warm welcome to my winter-wears.
Now that winter is approaching my city, I decided to talk about one of my favorite winter outerwears, the peacoat. I see this outer coat to be very classic yet simple and elegant. I especially love the big buttons and the collar. I absolutely adore the fact that it can be used over various different outfits, whether it is combined with a casual look or a more formal look, the peacoat never fails to enhance the outfit. However, the only personal downside for me is the fact that it is not such a light piece. Of course the peacoat was made with a primary purpose to keep people warm and to achieve such purpose most of them are made of heavy wool. This is a very small issue I find, but that does not bother me since a little weight for a classic look never hurts. So the way I tend to use this peacoat is over an already layered outfit: a simple shirt covered by a vest and most of the times along with a scarf, then with darker jeans or casual pants.
So I believe that for any winter, the peacoat is definitely a MUST-HAVE piece for the fact that it is a classic and extremely flexible when putting together your look of the day.
